Rotate a video the smart way
Phones occasionally guess orientation wrong, action cams get mounted upside down, and front cameras mirror everything. This tool fixes all three: rotate in 90° steps, flip horizontally or vertically, and watch the preview update live so you export exactly once.
Two export paths
Re-encode (default). Every frame is physically rotated and the video is re-encoded to H.264 MP4. Works in every player ever made.
Lossless metadata rotation (MP4). MP4 files carry a display-rotation flag. Ticking the lossless box just rewrites that flag and copies the streams untouched — it finishes in seconds with literally zero quality change, even on multi-gigabyte files. The trade-off: a small number of older players and editors ignore the flag. For modern phones, browsers, and players like VLC, it's perfect.
Un-mirroring selfie video
Front-camera footage is usually mirrored — text in the background reads backwards. One click of Flip horizontal fixes it. Flips always use the re-encode path (the rotation flag can't express them), and you can combine a flip with rotation in a single pass.
FAQ
What is lossless metadata rotation?
It rewrites MP4's rotation flag and copies the streams untouched — instant, zero quality loss. A few older players ignore the flag; re-encode mode works everywhere.
Which rotation fixes a sideways phone video?
Use the live preview — click 90° until it looks right, then export. One click for tops pointing left, three for tops pointing right.
Can I flip a mirrored video?
Yes — Flip horizontal un-mirrors selfie footage and can be combined with rotation in one pass.
Is my video uploaded to rotate it?
No — it all runs in your browser. Lossless mode finishes in seconds even on huge files.
