Chroma key without the subscription
Green-screen removal is the feature online editors most reliably lock behind a paid plan. Ours runs as a WebGL fragment shader on your own graphics chip — per-pixel keying in real time, previewed live as you tune it — so there's no server cost for us and no fee for you. Drop your footage, select the clip, enable Chroma key in the properties panel, and use the eyedropper to click the exact green in your frame.
Two sliders, clean edges
Similarity sets how close to the key color a pixel must be to disappear — raise it until the backdrop is fully gone. Smoothness feathers the boundary so hair and edges blend instead of cutting out hard. Footage lit evenly keys almost instantly; wrinkled or shadowed screens need a touch more similarity.
The background is just another layer
Because this lives in a layered editor, replacing the background is trivial: add an image or video to a lower track and your keyed footage sits on top. Scale, position and color-grade each layer independently, then export as MP4 or WebM — watermark-free, naturally.
FAQ
How do I remove the green screen?
Select the clip → enable chroma key → eyedropper the green → tune similarity until the backdrop vanishes, smoothness until edges are clean.
Does it only work with green?
No — any reasonably uniform color keys. Green/blue work best because they're far from skin tones.
Can I put a new background behind the keyed video?
Yes — add an image or video on a lower track; your keyed footage composites over it.
Is this really free?
Yes. The keying runs on your own GPU and your footage never uploads, so there's nothing to charge for.
